At Facilitated Therapies We Care.

Massage Enhancements

An hour or longer treatment that incorporates the use of hot stones placed on receptor points throughout the body to extremely deepen muscle relaxation and provide an intensely calming state of being. Hot stones are also used in the hands of the massage therapist which provides a combination of heat and pressure to create one of the deepest relaxation treatments available.
Working on the deeper portions of the muscles to locate and alleviate pain. This therapy uses manipulation of trigger points to effectively “reset” the pain cycle, relieving a wide variety of muscle pains. This can be especially effective on people with chronic pain issues.
We use organic oils extracted from herbs, flowers and fruits to enhance the benefits of your massage. It's said to have originated in Europe and has been practiced there since the early 20th century. It may promote relaxation, help relieve stress and has been used to help treat a wide range of physical and mental conditions, including burns, infections, depression, insomnia, and high blood pressure. Each aroma touts its own list of therapeutic qualities for example lemon is purifying, revitalizing and uplifting. Lavender is soothing and refreshing and can assist the body when adapting to stress or imbalances. It's balancing properties can also boost stamina and energy.
Your therapist will begin your session by applying warming gel in a targeted area to reduce pain and/or inflammation, relieve muscle spasms, increase blood flow and aid in the post acute phase of healing; allowing our therapist to work deeper into your muscles. To end, a cooling topical analgesic gel is used to continue decreased pain, release any additional tension and invigorate your muscles.
Allow us to refresh, soothe and hydrate tired aching feet! Our foot scrub is applied while massaging your feet and adds an additional level of decadency to leave your tootsies feeling smooth and protected.

While I received my massage license in 1989, my focus for the past 15+ years has been in CranioSacral Therapy, a gentle yet surprisingly deep, non-invasive therapy. I have used this specialization to treat a variety of individuals; adults, children, babies and even pets. CranioSacral Therapy promotes relief for a wide range of concerns, including migraines, TMJ dysfunction, acute and/or chronic pain and injuries. Read more about CranioSacral Therapy.

Recently, I decided to add some "massage" back into my practice, specializing in "Deluxe Relaxation". If you are looking to be completely pampered, this is the treatment for you. Details on Deluxe Relaxation Massage.

In the late 70’s when running, aerobics and fitness clubs became the craze, I jumped right on board developing a dance exercise program that I taught out of my garage in Southgate, Michigan.

Health Food stores were beginning to pop up everywhere. At the same time I was being introduced to things like chiropractic, acupuncture and massage. The way I was taught to look at health care was being challenged. Going to the doctor only when something was “wrong” to have them “fix” it didn’t seem to make sense anymore. For me this was the beginning of taking an active role in my own health, the beginning of taking responsibility for my own wellbeing, not just physically but mentally, emotionally and spiritually as well.

After moving to Florida in 1981 I continued to teach exercise classes and in 1989 became licensed as a massage therapist. Having had a private massage practice since that time, I’ve always worked independently sharing office space with other independent therapist.

In 1995, I became interested in CranioSacral Therapy (CST) after a car accident. It was the only modality where I received lasting relief. Immediately I started incorporating CranioSacral techniques in my massage practice.

Since then I have taken ten CST classes, assisted sixteen classes and co-taught four CST I classes. I am CST techniques certified, teaching assistant certified and presenter certified (teaching over 20 Introduction classes). In the fall of 2008 I had the pleasure of working with Dr. John Upledger, founder of CranioSacral Therapy, and received visiting therapist status for the Upledger Institute's Intensive Program. In August of 2012 I had the special opportunity to participate in the CST Dolphin Assisted Therapy Program which was indeed an incredible experience.

As time progressed, I moved from being solely a Massage Therapy Center to a Relaxation and Wellness Spa. The intention of the changed focus is to offer a facility that not only provides massage but provides an overall friendly , fun environment in which people can come to relax and release the stresses of everyday life as well as find a place in which healing can be facilitated: physically, mentally, emotionally, etc.

My passion for massage therapy sparked over a decade ago. Praise from friends and family for my innate ability and aptitude for massage confirmed my desire to take this natural gift and turn it into a vocation.

I graduated here in Florida from Cortiva Institute in 2011 and am certified in Neuromuscular Therapy (NMT), Myofascial Therapy (MFR) and Swedish massage. I continue my career education and am looking forward to adding additional certifications in the coming years. I most recently became a doTERRA consultant and benefit from the aromatherapy education which I already use daily!

I have provided treatment services to a diverse population, including chiropractic and dental offices, the collegiate athletes of the East/West Shrine Game, day spas, the Department of Veterans' Affairs, and professional baseball players. I am also the official massage therapist for Amy "The Killer B" Bybee, a rising star in professional MMA.

I have immensely enjoyed being a part of the Facilitated Therapies crew since July of 2012, bringing my in-tune and in-depth understanding to a wide variety of clients.
